At Orange Coast Recovery we do provide group therapy, but our primary form of therapy is through one-on-one therapy sessions. Executive Dual Diagnosis Treatment/ Co-Occurring Disorder Treatment
Research shows that 67% of persons affected by chemical dependency also show signs of metal illness or emotional disorder. The common name for such circumstance is concurrent disorder, co-occurring disorder, or dual diagnosis. Additional conditions that occur are Depression, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Anxiety, and Bi-polar, and varying degrees of each. Often times the addict is unaware of their co-occuring disorder and is unknowingly self-medicating with drugs or alcohol.
Most treatment centers treat only one condition, either the addiction or the psychological issue. At OCR, the client goes through various assessments to diagnose exactly what the problem is and then we use a multi-disciplinary team effort to provide intensive executive dual diagnosis treatment and addiction treatment.
